Neurodivergent children and young people support

Respite-style, 1-to-1 support and activities for neurodivergent children and young people.

What it is

Working in partnership with local authorities [TO CONFIRM], Iris Mental Health Consultancy CIC provides respite-style support and activities for neurodivergent children and young people, including those with SEND or autism. The aim is to offer supportive, low-pressure, one-to-one support that promotes wellbeing, inclusion, and positive engagement.

This service is designed with flexibility and sensitivity to sensory needs, communication differences, and emotional regulation. It can help children and young people build confidence while giving families and carers valued support.

Who it’s for

  • Neurodivergent children and young people, including those with SEND or autism
  • Families and carers who would value trusted respite and support
  • Young people who do better with low-pressure, sensory-aware, 1-to-1 time

What a session is like

Support is one-to-one and built around the child — their sensory needs, how they communicate, and what they enjoy. We keep things low-pressure and predictable, and we plan with families so the right person is a good fit. Sessions can happen as regular slots or as a holiday block, depending on what helps.

How to start

You can enquire directly, or ask a school, GP or local authority to refer you. Mention this service and we’ll pick up from there.
