Individual therapy

One-to-one, trauma-informed therapy for children, young people and parents.

What it is

We offer trauma-informed, evidence-based individual therapy for children, young people, and parents experiencing emotional distress, anxiety, low mood, trauma, or relational challenges. Sessions are tailored to each person’s needs and may draw on CBT, interpersonal, integrative, and systemic approaches.

This service is designed to provide timely, accessible support in the community for people who need a safe, confidential space to talk and work through challenges they wish to address. We aim to reduce the escalation of crisis by offering responsive early intervention and coordinated care where needed.

Who it’s for

  • Children and young people finding things hard at home, at school, or in themselves
  • Parents carrying stress, worry, or the weight of a difficult time
  • Anyone who wants a confidential space to talk with a trained professional — no diagnosis needed

What a session is like

Sessions are 50 minutes, usually weekly, in a quiet, private room. The first session is mostly about getting to know you and what you would like to be different — you set the pace, and you never have to talk about anything before you are ready. From there we agree together what to work on. If something isn’t helping, you can say so, and we change it.

How to start

You can enquire directly, or ask a school, GP or local authority to refer you. Mention this service and we’ll pick up from there.
