After-school and holiday learning support

Encouraging academic support after school and in the holidays, from GCSE to undergraduate level.

What it is

Working in partnership with local authorities [TO CONFIRM], we offer academic support after school and in the school holidays for children and young people who may need help staying engaged with learning. This includes support across psychology, psychotherapy, social sciences and wider academic extension, from GCSE to undergraduate degree level.

The service is intended to be encouraging, confidence-building, and accessible — especially for young people who may be balancing educational demands with emotional or mental health challenges. It can be delivered in a way that complements therapeutic support and broader family needs.

Who it’s for

  • Young people who have lost momentum with learning and need encouragement
  • Students balancing study with emotional or mental health challenges
  • Learners wanting extension in psychology, psychotherapy or social sciences

What a session is like

Support is one-to-one for an hour, or in a small group, and it is built around confidence as much as content. We start from where the young person actually is, not where they “should” be, and keep the pressure low. Where it helps, learning support can sit alongside therapeutic support rather than competing with it.

How to start

You can enquire directly, or ask a school, GP or local authority to refer you. Mention this service and we’ll pick up from there.
